Hi! Welcome to my "about me" section!

My name is Janelle Maddaleni. I'm a 25 year old Bostonian, passionate about everything I do! My goal is to make you look and feel confident by enhancing the natural beauty you already have.

I have always had a passion for the beauty industry since I was six years old. Performing was a big part of my life between figure skating and dancing, so perfect hair and makeup were always a must, and my favorite part of getting ready! I was a part of Northeast School of Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker" since thesecond grade. During my second performance, my instructors told us we would be doing our own makeup. I was 8, and had no idea what I was doing, but best believe I learned quickly! A short time after, all of my friends would ask me to do their makeup for Nutcracker performances, which is where my love for makeup really fell into place. I started off in the beauty industry when I was 17 years old at Hair's How Modern School of Beauty. I completed my 1000 hour program, and received my cosmetology license in May 2012. I worked in a salon where I got experience with all sorts of women's colors, cuts, and styles, as well as men's grooming and styling. From there, I realized how much I liked the men's side of the business, which led me to begin the barber program at New England Hair Academy. I learned everything about men's grooming down straight edge razor shaves, which quickly became my favorite men's service to perform. I completed the 500 required hours to become a "Lady Barber", worked hard for months as an apprentice, and now have my Master Barber license! I LOVED the feeling of working in a barbershop. Five months after receiving my master barber's license, I started at Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics to learn more about proper skincare (because why not do it all, right?!). I have always loved getting my facials every 4 weeks, and figured if I was going to do it all in the beauty industry, I should have my esthetic's license as well. In December 2016, after completing 300 hours at Catherine Hinds, I received my esthetician license. In June 2017, I finally completed the 1200 hour Master Esthetician program at Catherine Hinds! I am also a certified makeup artist by David Nicholas International, and continue to study professional makeup with him. I take as many continuing education classes as possible to ensure I'm always up-to-date with new products, techniques, styles, and treatments.
